The Alson H. Smith Jr. Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Winchester will open two hours late today, Feb. 13.

The Virginia Tech Richmond Center is closed today.
7:18 a.m.
The Reynolds Homestead AREC will open at 10 a.m. today.
The Eastern Shore AREC in Painter will open at 10 a.m. today. Employees should monitor their email accounts in case of further delays.

8:53 p.m.
The following dining centers will be open on Wednesday on the Blacksburg campus.
Squires Food Court, Hokie Grill, Owens Food Court, Dietrick Dining Center: D2, Xpress Lane, DXpress, Deet’s, and West End will operate normal hours. Subject to change due to the weather.
Perry Place at Hitt Hall, Turner Place at Lavery Hall, Viva Market at Johnston Student Center, Viva Too at Goodwin Hall, Ducky’s at Graduate Life Center, and Allee at Dietrick Hall will be closed.
McComas Hall will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The following facilities will be closed War Memorial Hall, Venture Out Center, Rec Sports Field House, VT Golf Course and the pool in McComas Hall. All group exercise classes and intramural sports will be canceled.

7:25 p.m.
Due to inclement weather, the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025. All Blacksburg campus in-person classes and activities are canceled for Wednesday. Online courses will be held as scheduled. In-person classes affected by the closure are canceled and should not be moved online.
University staff designated "emergency personnel" must report as instructed by their supervisor. Employees with a remote or hybrid work schedule should work online as scheduled. In-person employees should not report.
The Health Sciences and Technology campus in Roanoke, including the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, will open at 12 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12. Morning classes for VTC School of Medicine and Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health (TBMH) students will be held online. The Animal Cancer Care and Research Center will open for emergencies only after 12 p.m.
The Virginia Tech Center in Roanoke will be closed on Wednesday.
Virginia Tech locations in the greater Washington, D.C., metro area will open at 11 a.m. on Wed., Feb. 12. Classes beginning at 11 a.m. or after will be held as scheduled.

For events taking place at the Executive Briefing Center at the Virginia Tech Research Center in Arlington, operations will be open as normal.

The women's lacrosse game will be held on Feb. 12, now starting at 3:30 p.m. instead of its scheduled start time of 5 p.m.

In anticipation of potential wintry weather, Virginia Tech has put snow emergency routes on the Blacksburg campus in effect starting at 7:30 p.m. today.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the Blacksburg and Roanoke areas effective until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
This designation goes into effect prior to road conditions deteriorating to support snow removal and emergency vehicle movement.
