Virginia Tech Board of Visitors to meet June 10-11
The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting on Tuesday, June 11, at 1:15 p.m. in 2100 Torgersen Hall, 620 Drillfield Drive, on the Blacksburg campus.
In addition, individual committee meetings and other sessions held during these two days will be at locations on the Virginia Tech campus.
On Monday, June 10, board members will meet at 1 p.m. in closed session, immediately followed by open session for an information session in 260 New Classroom Building, 1455 Perry Street in Blacksburg. Immediately following the information session, all board members are invited to join a walking tour of construction projects in the North Academic District of the Virginia Tech campus.
Also on Monday, the board’s Executive Committee will meet with President Tim Sands at 11:45 a.m. in 270 New Classroom Building.
On Tuesday, June 11, the chairs of the five standing board committees will meet in open session at 7:30 a.m., in the Old Guard Salon at the Inn at Virginia Tech, 901 Prices Fork Road, Blacksburg. Also on Tuesday, the Nominating Committee will meet in closed session starting at 8:45 a.m. in 270 New Classroom Building.
In addition, on June 10 and 11, the following committee meetings will be held:
- On Tuesday, the Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committee will meet in closed session beginning at 9 a.m., and immediately followed by open session. Both meetings will be held in 250 New Classroom Building.
- On Tuesday, the Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet in open session at 10 a.m. in 230 New Classroom Building.
- On Monday, the Compliance, Audit, and Risk Committee will meet in closed session at 9:30 a.m., immediately followed by open session. Both meetings will be held in 260 New Classroom Building.
- The Finance and Resource Management Committee will meet Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. in closed session, followed by open session. Both meetings to be held in 260 New Classroom Building.
- The Governance and Administration Committee will meet Tuesday open session beginning at 10:30 a.m. in 210 New Classroom Building.
During the two-day meeting, board members will consider resolutions on the 2024-25 university and operating and capital budgets, the 2024-25 faculty compensation plan, 2024-25 compensation for graduate assistants, and the graduate candidacy status tuition rate. The board will also receive a design preview for the new business building.

Those attending the meeting in person will need to present a Virginia Tech Hokie Passport or government-issued photo ID and all bags will be searched. Please allow extra time to accommodate these measures. Signs, banners, or any other activity that would obstruct the view of others are prohibited. Public comment will not be received during the two-day meeting.
