The Alson H. Smith Jr. Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Winchester will be closed today.

Due to the current hazardous road conditions, the Southern Piedmont Agricultural Research and Extension Center will now open at 11 a.m. today, Friday, Dec. 5.

10:45 p.m. update
The Eastern Shore Agricultural Research and Extension Center will operate on a two-hour delay on Friday, Dec. 5.
10 p.m. update
Community Practice and specialty services at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Blacksburg and the Animal Cancer Care and Research Center in Roanoke will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5. Clients with affected appointments will be contacted with further instructions. Emergency Services remain open 24 hours a day.
9:45 p.m. update
The Health Sciences and Technology campus and the Roanoke Center, both in Roanoke, will open at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5.
8:51 p.m. update
Adjusted hours for dining centers on the Blacksburg campus on Friday, Dec. 5:
- Dietrick Hall: Closing at midnight
- Perry Place, Squires Food Court, and Turner Place: Opening at 9 a.m.
- Viva Market, Viva Too, and Ducky's: Opening at 10 a.m.
- West End, Dietrick Hall, Owens Food Court, and Hokie Grill will open at their normal times.

Adjusted hours for Recreational Sports on Friday, Dec. 5:
- McComas and War Memorial will open at 8 a.m.
- Pools in McComas and War Memorial will open at 9 a.m.
- Fitness classes will start at 10 a.m.
- The golf course will open at 10 a.m. (tee times are weather permitting)
- Venture Out will maintain normal hours

In anticipation of potential wintry weather, the Blacksburg campus will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5.

In anticipation of potential wintry weather, Virginia Tech has put snow emergency routes on the Blacksburg campus in effect starting at 7:30 p.m. today.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Blacksburg and Roanoke areas effective until 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5.
This designation goes into effect prior to road conditions deteriorating to support snow removal and emergency vehicle movement.
Delayed openings and closings
