Kelley Corvin has been named chief advancement officer for the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets and officially stepped into her new role on April 25.

As the chief advancement officer, she will lead the corps’ advancement team in engaging alumni, family, and friends of the corps to support cadets with scholarship and experiential learning opportunities while increasing operational funding for the corps.

“I am thrilled to welcome Kelley to the corps' advancement team. Her passion and enthusiasm for the Corps of Cadets is quite evident, and I know she will bring a great deal of energy and expertise to our philanthropic efforts while also leading a strong and capable group of advancement professionals dedicated to the success of this constituency," said Angela Hayes, associate vice president for advancement and campaign director.

A Blacksburg native, Corvin graduated from Virginia Tech in 2012 with a degree in apparel, housing, and resource management from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

After relocating to Asheville, North Carolina, to work in property management for four years, she returned to Virginia Tech in 2016 to begin her fundraising career as a development associate with Student Affairs. In 2018, she became the assistant director of leadership gifts for Student Affairs focusing on philanthropic efforts with parents and families, and then in 2022, she became the associate director of major gifts for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

"As someone with strong Hokie roots, I am very excited to join the commandant's staff and make an impact on an iconic part of Virginia Tech history, the Corps of Cadets. Helping to ensure current and future cadets have access and support to resources and opportunities that will allow them to grow and shape their experience is critical as Virginia Tech prepares them to be our next generation of leaders," said Corvin.

Corvin earned a master's degree in executive leadership from Liberty University in 2016. An avid football fan, she enjoys time outdoors and is certified in two disciplines of dance fitness.
