2024 CALS Senior Awards and Recognitions

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Virginia Tech will graduate more than 650 seniors across 21 majors. Prior to the college’s spring commencement, each department will recognize its most outstanding graduating seniors.

The following seniors have been selected as the departmental outstanding seniors for 2024:

Agricultural and Applied Economics - Kristen Frick and Will McGuirk
Agricultural, Leadership, and Community Education - Madison Powell and Mattie Clark
Agricultural Technology - Jacob Golub and Megan Mallory
Biochemistry – Allison Pennington and Emma Szczesniak
Food Science and Technology – Natalie Lucidi and Troy Walker
Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise – Shahed Sanuri and Lauryn Mericle
School of Animal Sciences – Alex Solomon and Jack Hammock
School of Plant and Environmental Sciences – Sara Peters and Megan Pollok

In addition to the departmental awards, the college will be recognizing 24 seniors to celebrate their diverse experiences and accomplishments. Since 2022, the college has expanded their nominations and awards to reflect the individuality and unique backgrounds of its students.
