Stephanie Brady has been named chief advancement officer for Student Affairs and will officially step into her new role on March 25.

As the division's chief advancement officer, Brady will serve as the principal fundraiser for Student Affairs and will lead the Student Affairs advancement team, whose mission is to inform, engage, and ask alumni and families to support the valuable programs and resources offered by Student Affairs.

“I am thrilled to have Stephanie join the division. She brings an immense amount of fundraising experience and she is passionate about ensuring education is accessible to all students," said Frances Keene, vice president for Student Affairs.

With nearly 20 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, Brady began her career in Boston as an associate with Development Guild, a nonprofit consulting firm. She then moved into higher education advancement, working for Harvard University's School of Public Health and Kennedy School of Government. Later in her career, she served as senior leadership gifts officer and director of parent giving with Bates College in Maine and major gifts officer with Hamilton College in New York.

Most recently, Brady served as assistant vice president with the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, where she managed scholarship fundraising efforts.

"I'm beyond thrilled to join the Virginia Tech Student Affairs team and serve the close-knit community that my daughter has been part of for the past three years,” said Brady. “As a current parent, I have seen firsthand how transformative Virginia Tech has been, and I look forward to making a positive impact on the student experience here."

Brady earned a master’s degree in gender and cultural studies from Simmons University and a bachelor's degree in liberal studies from Virginia Wesleyan University.
