How VMCVM equipped me for the 'real world'...
VMCVM taught me that you can't know everything all the time but you will hopefully be better equipped to learn and figure things out as you grow.
Best part of being a VMCVM alum...
The best part of being a VMCVM alum are the friendships and bonds made with my graduating class. Since graduating, my class has remained close and continued to help each other over the years.
The best advice I've gotten …
Your attitude and perspective on challenges greatly influences the success of the outcome.
How would you capture the essence of your work in a newspaper headline?
Ethical and humane use of animal models in research and teaching.
My hidden talent...
I can pour a mean soft-serve ice cream cone.
A person who has inspired me...
Steve T. Shipley, DVM, DACLAM (Thanks, Steve!)
Words of encouragement to a current veterinary college student...
Forgive yourself for making mistakes and know that one cannot grow without them.
Fondest college memory or tradition...
Perfectly timed snow days!
Top of my bucket list...
I would love to visit the glaciers again before they are gone.
Being a VMCVM alumnus means...
Having Hokie pride and belonging to a lifelong VT and VMCVM family. It is comforting to know that no matter where we go or what we do, we are all still connected and support each other.
