Virginia Tech’s spring commencement schedule has been announced and includes changes to create a better experience for graduates and their families as class sizes grow.

The schedule can be found online. Graduates are encouraged to review the new schedule because times and locations may be different from previous years. Graduates will still have their name called and walk across the stage at college ceremonies.

The university commencement ceremony is unchanged. The universitywide event will be held in Lane Stadium on Friday, May 10, at 8:30 a.m.

The Graduate School ceremony is Wednesday, May 8, at 10 a.m. but will include only Ph.D. and interdisciplinary master's degree graduates. Students earning their master’s degrees or Graduate School certifications will participate in their respective college ceremonies.

Ceremonies held in the Moss Arts Center will require tickets for guests.

The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine's DVM, Bachelor of Science in public health, and master’s degree ceremonies will be held in the Moss Arts Center. Colleges will work directly with their graduates on ticketing for ceremonies.

The College of Engineering also encourages graduates to limit guests to no more than 10 per graduate to accommodate all graduates and guests at the ceremonies. Those ceremonies will be held at Cassell Coliseum.
