Dear colleagues,

As we look forward to the upcoming holidays and make plans to visit family and friends and enjoy good meals in warm and safe surroundings, please take a moment to support those less fortunate through the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign.

Our local communities and charitable organizations are counting on us. Even a small gift will make a big difference. For example:

  • Each dollar you donate to Feeding Southwest Virginia (CVC Code 200877) can provide the equivalent of five healthy meals.
  • Every dollar you give to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (CVC Code 200080) helps provide four meals.
  •  Your gift of $50 to the Women’s Resource Center of the New River Valley (CVC Code 200859) supplies the shelter pantry with staples such as milk, fruit, meat, and cheese. This pantry is an important resource for families as they settle into new surroundings.
  • Donations to organizations such as the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad (CVC Code 200153) or YMCA at Virginia Tech (CVC Code 200087) help ensure the vital services they provide are available to our Blacksburg campus.

If you haven’t had a chance to donate, there is still time. This year’s campaign runs until Friday, Dec. 8.

We need your help to reach this year’s goal of raising $400,000 for charities across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

I encourage you to visit the CVC website and find a participating charity that is meaningful to you. Together, we can make a big difference in the lives of neighbors in need.

Make your donation today and thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Lynsay Belshe
Vice President for Auxiliary and Business Services
Honorary Chair, 2023 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign

NOTE: As a reminder, Virginia Tech employees are asked to use the university's CVC donation site when making a contribution. The state has a separate donation site, but donations made through that site may not be counted toward Virginia Tech's campaign goal.
