Mary Beth Dunkenberger appointed to Virginia Data Advisory Commission

Mary Beth Dunkenberger, associate director of the Virginia Tech Institute for Policy and Governance, has been appointed to the Virginia Data Advisory Commission.
The commission will advise the Office of Data Governance and Analytics regarding data-sharing issues and will help develop solutions to improve the data-driven policy of Virginia. The commission also will review agency performance goals and accomplishments.
“I’m delighted to be appointed to the commission," Dunkenberger said. "I look forward to serving as a part of the advisory team to help make data collected and maintained by our public agencies more accessible to inform public policy, programming, and resource allocations.”
Dunkenberger provides research, technical assistance, and capacity-building support to public and nonprofit organizations. As associate director of the Institute for Policy and Governance in the School of Public and International Affairs, she has worked on policy research and analysis as well as organizational and program assessments that span human services, health care, behavioral health, workforce development, and economic development.
