The Commonwealth of Virginia has joined the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and others in a separate lawsuit challenging the policies announced on July 6, 2020 by “Broadcast Message” which is to be published as a Temporary Final Rule to amend requirements of the Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

The director of Virginia Tech’s Cranwell International Center has submitted a declaration of support for the lawsuit. The Cranwell International Center provides programs and services for international students and promotes the development of global and intercultural competence in all students.

Virginia Tech does this in support of its international students and considers them important members of our community. As a global land-grant university, and to be true global citizens, it is essential that Virginia Tech welcomes our international students and that we continue to have the ability for our students and faculty to be partners in research, teaching and outreach here and abroad.
