A welcome message from Virginia Tech President Tim Sands
Welcome to a new year at Virginia Tech! I hope you had an enjoyable summer and, like me, are excited about what awaits us in 2018-19.
Greetings to the Class of 2022, the most diverse and talented entering class in our history. You will graduate as we celebrate the university’s 150th anniversary, our sesquicentennial.
This is an important year for Virginia Tech, as we focus on strengthening our community, advancing our research, expanding our presence in Roanoke and the National Capital Region, developing new partnerships, and continuing to chart a course for our future. I’ll have more to say in my State of the University Address on Sept. 7 at 3 p.m. at the Moss Arts Center. I hope you’ll be able to join me in person or online.
We are poised for a great year of discovery, new relationships, and service to our community and the world. Go Hokies!
Tim Sands,
President
