Melinda Miller appointed assistant professor of economics in College of Science
Melinda Miller has been named as an assistant professor in the Department of Economics, part of the Virginia Tech College of Science.
Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Miller was an assistant professor at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, as well a visiting assistant professor at Yale University and the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on economic history, demography, labor economics, and applied microeconomics.
She earned a bachelor’s of arts degree Magna Cum Laude from Case Western Reserve University in 2000, and master’s and doctoral degrees in, respectively, 2005 and 2008, from the University of Michigan, all in economics.
Miller is one of 22 tenured and tenure-track faculty members to join the College of Science and the Virginia Tech School of Neuroscience this year.
