Virginia Tech Police Department promotes Tony Haga to lieutenant of investigations
The Virginia Tech Police Department has promoted Tony Haga to lieutenant of investigations.
In his new position, Haga will oversee the department's investigations unit, which includes five detectives. Also, he will manage the threat assessment process.
Prior to his promotion, Haga served as detective sergeant and managed all criminal and administrative investigations. In addition, he served as the department’s primary behavioral threat assessment investigator and was an instructor for the student and faculty and staff police academies.
Haga joined the Virginia Tech Police Department in 2004 as a uniform patrol officer. He began his law enforcement career in 1988 with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Haga resides in the City of Radford.
