Jennifer Bondy joins School of Education
Jennifer M. Bondy has been appointed an assistant professor in the School of Education at Virginia Tech’s College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
Bondy is one of 14 new faculty members at the college this fall. These new hires are part of the college’s ongoing efforts to attract renowned scholars to strengthen and expand its teaching, research, and engagement programs. More than 70 full-time permanent faculty members have been added to the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences in the past three years under the leadership of Dean Sue Ott Rowlands.
Bondy's research areas include gender, immigration, and education; and sociocultural frameworks in education. At Virginia Tech, she is teaching courses on gender and education and social studies methods.
She holds a Ph.D. in curriculum theory and cultural studies from Miami University (Ohio), where she received the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Department of Educational Leadership to fund doctoral research on Latina youths’ citizenship and identity formations.
She also holds a master's of education in educational leadership from Florida Atlantic University and a bachlor's degree in anthropology from Tulane University.
