Virginia Tech Board of Visitors to meet June 2 and 3
The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting at 1 p.m. Monday, June 3, in the Board Room of Torgersen Hall (Room 2100) on the Blacksburg campus.
On Sunday, June 2, members of the presidential search committee meet in open session from noon to 2 p.m. in Latham Ballroom at the Inn at Virginia Tech. The full board will then meet in closed session at 2 p.m. in Latham Ballroom. From 4 to 5:30 p.m., the Research Committee will meet in open session in the Duckpond Room, also at the Inn at Virginia Tech.
On Monday, June 3, the following committee sessions will be held at Lavery Hall:
- The Academic Affairs Committee will meet in closed session at 8 a.m.in Room 320, followed by an open session at 9 a.m. at the same location.
- The Buildings and Grounds Committee will tour the Virginia Tech Quarry departing at 7:35 a.m. from the Inn at Virginia Tech. The committee will join the Student Affairs and Athletics Committee in open session at 9:30 a.m. in Room 350. Buildings and Grounds will then meet in open session at 10 a.m. in Room 330.
- The Finance and Audit Committee will meet in closed session at 7:30 a.m. in Room 345 and will meet in open session at 8:30 a.m. in Room 340.
- The Student Affairs and Athletics Committee will meet in open session at 8 a.m. in Room 350. The committee will be joined by Buildings and Grounds from 9:30 to 10 a.m., and then Student Affairs and Athletics will resume its open session at 10 a.m.in Room 350.
All board members will be invited to tour Lavery Hall beginning at 11:30 a.m.
During the two-day meeting, the board will consider resolutions to establish three new bachelor’s degrees, one new master’s degree and two new Ph.D. programs; and the 2013-14 university budgets.
