Jonathan Boulter has been named associate director of patron services for the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech. Boulter will oversee patron experiences at the center, which include the management of ticketing and front of house operations.

Boulter brings 12 years of experience working for Walt Disney World, where he most recently managed the front of house operations and box office for the Cirque du Soleil show at Downtown Disney, which is housed in a 1,671-seat theatre. He has also served as a guest service manager and special events coordinator for Walt Disney World, where he strengthened his customer service and leadership skills.

Boulter will be responsible for ensuring an overall positive experience for the center’s patrons through a high standard of customer service and effective and thoughtful communication. His front of house operations duties include the management of the center’s 1,260-seat performance hall, which will feature music, theatre, and dance performance, as well as all box office and ticketing activities. Boulter will lead a team of operations and ticketing employees, volunteers, and student workers.

“Jonathan’s personal dedication to and experience in providing excellent customer service to performing arts patrons made him a perfect match for this position,” said Heather Ducote, director of marketing and communications for the Center for the Arts. “Our goal is to provide seamless and consistently positive experiences for our patrons, whether they are seeking out tickets, requesting special assistance with seats, or just asking for directions.”

Boulter received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Virginia Tech.  He received several awards and recognitions during his tenure with Walt Disney World, including the 2011 Walt Disney Legacy Award, which is given to recipients who are recognized by their colleagues as going above and beyond their job requirements, and who represent Walt Disney’s legacy to dream, create, and inspire.
