Brian Yohn has been named creative services manager for the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech, bringing a blend of creativity and innovation, as well as extensive experience managing print and digital publications.

Yohn manages the creative services work for the Center for the Arts and the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology, Virginia Tech’s newest university-level research institute, which is uniquely partnered with the center. His duties include the planning, graphic design, production, and dissemination of all promotional materials, including event programs, advertisements, posters, flyers, brochures, direct mail, season guides, and signage.

“Brian brings more than 10 years of experience in graphic design, from large-format media to package design and print collateral, to this position,” said Heather Ducote, director of marketing and communications for the Center for the Arts. “He has already had an important impact on our marketing and communications efforts and has proven to be a genuine collaborator and creative force. His designs embody the exciting, imaginative spirit of the center and the institute.”

Prior to joining the Center for the Arts, Yohn served as the graphic design manager for Virginia Tech’s Division of Student Affairs, where he managed a staff of graphic designers and directed all creative projects, including the creation of brochures, advertisements, signage, posters, and direct mail pieces. He has also worked as a graphic designer at NDG Communications, Tower Advertising, and Exhibit Studios, as well as working as a freelance graphic designer.

Yohn holds a degree from the Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts and is currently enrolled in Virginia Tech’s visual communication design program in the School of Visual Arts, College of Architecture and Urban Studies.
