Virginia Tech Union is bringing award-winning entertainer and mentalist Craig Karges to Burruss Auditorium on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for Virginia Tech students and children 12 and under, and $10 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office in Squires Student Center.

Karges’ show, Experience the Extraordinary, “combines the art of magic with the science of psychology and the power of intuition to create the impression that nothing is impossible,” according to his website. His claims include the ability to make tables float, to bend metal, and to read minds.

The program, which often relies on audience participation, has been named one of the top five family/variety shows in North America by Performance magazine, a title the publication also awarded to magician David Copperfield. Karges has also been named Entertainer of the Year six times by the National Association for Campus Activities, with past winners including musician Bruce Springsteen and comedian Jay Leno, and four times by Campus Activities Magazine. The magazine also named him Best Performing Arts Attraction, Best Male Performer, Best Solo Act, and Best Novelty Act.

Free parking is available around the Drillfield with a visitor’s pass from 5-8 p.m. No pass is necessary on the Drillfield after 8 p.m. or on weekends. A visitor’s pass may be obtained Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Visitor Information Center, located at 965 Prices Fork Road, near the intersection of Prices Fork and University City Boulevard next to the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center. A visitor’s pass may also be obtained from the Virginia Tech Police Station, located on Sterrett Drive, outside of the Visitor Information Center hours.

Parking is also available in the Perry Street Lots and the Perry Street Parking Garage near Prices Fork Road. Find more parking information online or call 540-231-3200.
