Jennifer Carter and Faren McNabb on board at Virginia Tech Research Center — Arlington
The high-tech, highly visible Virginia Tech Research Center – Arlington is home to two new leaders in continuing and professional education.
Jennifer Carter and Faren McNabb are located in the new university facility located in the fast-growing Ballston area at 900 North Glebe Road in Arlington.
Carter was recently named an assistant director for Continuing and Professional Education at Virginia Tech and is charged with developing partnerships and delivering outreach programs in the National Capital Region. She is primarily responsible for reaching new clients with a focus on corporate and public-sector business.
Formerly the director of outreach and the instructional design coordinator for the Society for Science and the Public, Carter has also held positions at the Science Application International Corporation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She earned a master's degree in national security and public safety from the University of New Haven and a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Georgia.
McNabb has been named conference center manager with responsibilities for marketing and sales of conference space in the new facility. A Virginia Tech hospitality and tourism management graduate from the Pamplin College of Business, McNabb was previously the events manager at Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC – Crystal City in Arlington.

The conference center is located on the second of the building’s seven floors and consists of nine meeting rooms including a tiered-seating lecture hall, a versatile multipurpose room, and a demonstration/visualization room with a 20-foot, ultra-high-resolution projection screen.
