Virginia Tech to host inaugural Veteran and Military Student Resource Fair
Virginia Tech's Center for Academic Enrichment and Excellence, a unit within the Division of Undergraduate Education, is hosting its inaugural Veteran and Military Student Resource Fair Sept. 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Owens Banquet Hall, located 150 Kent Street in Blacksburg.
Sponsored by ITT Nightvision and Imaging of Roanoke, the fair will feature more than 40 organizations to make veterans, military students, reservists, as well as National Guardsmen and their dependents aware of resources to facilitate their education, training, health, and wellness.
Some of the fair's participating organizations include the Department of Veteran Affairs, Southwest Virginia Housing Development Authority, American Red Cross, American Legion, as well as university service-oriented offices such as Academic Advising, Career Services, Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, Department of Human Resources, Services for Students with Disabilities, and the Women's Center.
This event is free and open to the entire Southwest Virginia community. Free parking at the Kent Square Parking Garage (on the corner of Draper Road and Roanoke Street in downtown Blacksburg) and a shuttle to and from Owens Banquet Hall will be available for participants.
