The Pamplin College of Business has appointed Robin Camputaro as associate director for MBA marketing and recruiting and Garrett Weddle as associate director of development.

Camputaro was most recently manager of advertising and concessions for the Jacksonville Aviation Authority. She was previously marketing manager at General Growth Properties, a mall management firm, and food services company ARAMARK. She has an MBA from Jacksonville University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida.

Working with Pamplin’s associate dean for graduate programs and MBA staff, Camputaro will recruit students and promote the college’s flagship full-time MBA in Blacksburg and its professional MBA or PMBA, designed for part-time students.

The two-year full-time MBA is geared towards junior-level professionals and managers with strong potential for advancement and demonstrated leadership skills. The two-year PMBA is targeted at mid-level managers, professionals, and entrepreneurs with potential for significant advancement or a need for additional management training. The program meets one weekend a month and alternates between Virginia Tech’s Roanoke and Richmond campuses.

The college also offers a part-time MBA and an executive MBA at Virginia Tech’s Northern Virginia Center-National Capital Region campus in metro Washington, D.C.

Weddle’s background includes 25 years of experience in business. He worked most recently as a real estate agent and developer. He and his wife have owned Garrett’s Menswear Depot and Meg’s Specialty Womenswear in Radford, Va., for more than 25 years.

He has served on many area boards and commissions and was appointed to the board of directors of the Virginia Association of Realtors. Raised in Blacksburg, Weddle has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and operations research from Virginia Tech.

Weddle will help plan and implement the college’s fundraising efforts, working with the dean and others in the college and university. Pamplin, which has exceeded its initial $80-million fundraising goal in the current “Campaign for Virginia Tech-Invent the Future,” seeks to establish new scholarships, professorships, fellowships and programs to recruit and retain outstanding students and faculty members.
