Mark Cartwright achieves Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity status
Mark Cartwright, assistant director of purchasing for supplier diversity, has achieved the status of Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity from the Institute of Supply Management.
This certification requires individuals to pass two comprehensive examinations and demonstrate relevant experience and knowledge in the broad components of supplier diversity.
A member of the Virginia Tech community since 2007, Cartwright is responsible for a comprehensive program to improve the availability of small, woman-owned, and minority-owned (SWaM) businesses to the university community. He works closely with the professional buying staff of the university to identify potential SWaM supplier resources so that maximum opportunity for participation in the competitive procurement process will be achieved.
Cartwright received his bachelor’s degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Virginia Tech.
