Missing Virginia Tech student is found and is safe
12:30 p.m. update: Authorities have located missing Virginia Tech student, Alexander Leland Tucker. He is safe.
Tucker was found walking along a road a few miles from campus at approximately noon today by a Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy.
Virginia Tech Police would like to thank the university community, the general public, and members of the media who provided valuable assistance in this search.
9:30 a.m.: Virginia Tech Police seek assistance in locating missing student
Virginia Tech Police are looking for a missing Virginia Tech student, Alexander Leland Tucker.
Tucker is a white male, 18 years old, 5 foot, 8 inches tall, 180 pounds, blonde hair that is closely cut in a military style, blue eyes, and may be wearing glasses. He is believed to be wearing white and blue running shoes.
He was last seen in Brodie Hall on the Virginia Tech campus on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11 p.m. He was noticed missing today at approximately 5 a.m.
Tucker is a freshman majoring in mathematics from Chesapeake, Va. And is a member of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets. Authorities ask anyone who has seen Tucker to notify the Virginia Tech Police at (540) 231-6411 or their local law enforcement agency.
