The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 9:15 a.m. in Latham Ballroom at The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center, 901 Prices Fork Road in Blacksburg.

In addition, on Monday, Aug. 18, an orientation session and retreat will be held in open session for new and returning board members beginning at 8:45 a.m. at the Pete Dye River Course, 8400 River Course Drive in Radford. Board members will receive information and discuss issues affecting higher education and the state of the university in the context of achieving strategic long-term university goals.

At 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, the board’s executive committee will meet in closed session in the Old Guard Room at The Inn at Virginia Tech.  

Board committees will meet Aug. 19 in Latham A/B at the following times: 

  • The Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committee begins at 9 a.m. in closed session, followed by open session.
  • The Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet at 1:15 p.m. in open session.
  • The Compliance, Audit, and Risk Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. in open session, followed by closed session. 
  • The Finance and Resource Management Committee will meet at 3 p.m. in open session, followed by closed session.
  • The Finance and Resource Management Committee and Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet at 2:30 p.m. in a joint open session.

Additionally, committee chairs will meet in open session with university administrators at 8 a.m. Aug. 20 in the Old Guard Room.

Those attending the meeting in person will need to present a Virginia Tech Hokie Passport or government-issued photo ID and all bags will be searched. Please allow extra time to accommodate these measures. Signs, banners, or any other activity that would obstruct the view of others are prohibited. Public comment will not be received during the three-day meeting.
