Parker Quartet to perform at Virginia Tech
The Parker Quartet will perform Sunday, March 21 at 8 p.m. in the Squires Recital Salon on the campus of Virginia Tech.
The concert is a part of the University Chamber Music Series by the Department of Music.
The Parker Quartet has rapidly distinguished itself through touring and competitions. Most recently, the quartet was awarded the prestigious 2009-2011 Cleveland Quartet Award. They are currently the Quartet-in-Residence with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. In addition, they are the first-ever Artists-in-Residence with Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) and American Public Media (APM).
The quartet will perform the “Schumann Quartet in F Major,” “Dvorak Cypresses (Selections),” and “Schoenberg Quartet No. 1.” The members of The Parker Quartet are violinists Daniel Chong and Karen Kim, violist Jessica Bodner, and cellist Kee-Hyun Kim.
