Pamplin College appoints director of undergraduate career services
The Pamplin College of Business has appointed Stuart Mease, of Christiansburg, Va., as director of undergraduate career services.
Mease will advise Pamplin’s undergraduates in their career planning and job search activities and assist employers in their recruitment of Pamplin students. Five of the college’s academic majors are routinely in the top 10 majors employers seek when visiting campus. Mease will also serve as an advisor on Business Horizons Career Day, organized annually by Pamplin undergraduates and attended by more than 100 recruiters from a variety of business, government, and nonprofit organizations.
Mease formerly worked at the City of Roanoke’s Office of Economic Development, where, as special projects coordinator, he helped attract and retain young adults, organized and promoted job fairs, and established relationships with countless businesses. He most recently worked at Rackspace, where he created and implemented the recruiting strategy for the Blacksburg division of the publicly traded technology company.
A Pamplin alumnus, Mease received a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1997 and an MBA in 2000. He also worked at Virginia Tech for several years: first, as a job placement director in Pamplin’s management department, and later, in external relations and marketing at the university’s Center for Regional Strategies.
Active in the local community, Mease has served on the boards of a number of economic development, arts, and social organizations. He ran for Blacksburg Town Council in 2002.
