University to host New River Valley Symphony winter concert
The Virginia Tech Department of Music presents the New River Valley Symphony performing their Winter concert in Burruss Auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m.
Under the baton of James Glazebrook, the program will feature Samuel Barber’s “Medea’s Dance of Vengeance,” Sergei Wassilenko’s “Concert-Poeme,” and “Symphony No. 3, ‘Rhenish’” by Robert Schumann.
In addition to conducting the New River Valley Symphony, Glazebrook has been the conductor of the Roanoke Youth Symphony for over 20 years. He also teaches violin and viola, conducting, and string methods at Virginia Tech.
Tickets are $8 general admission and $5 for seniors and students, and are available at the University Unions and Student Activities Box Office in Squires Student Center. To order tickets, call (540) 231-5615 or visit the box office online.
