Four employees in the Virginia Tech Office of University Relations and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences received awards at the recent Association for Communication Excellence (ACE) conference. The association's 2008 conference was in Traverse City, Mich., on June 10-13.

The award winners were

  • Tim FisherPoff of Roanoke, Va., Gold Award for Illustration, Single or Series: “Agriculture Across Virginia;”
  • Randall R. Stith and Gabrielle Minnich both of Blacksburg, Silver Award for Video Spot Production: “We Are Virginia Tech;” and
  • Michael Sutphin of Blacksburg, Silver Award for Writing for Magazines: “Battle of the Bugs.”
