Fitness around the World brings different cultures to Virginia Tech in one fitness class
Kukuwa Nuamah is coming to town so Virginia Tech patrons will not have to travel far to get a multicultural experience of different dance styles from around the world.
Recreation Sports, along with sponsors Subway and Sayre Promotional Products, presents "Fitness Around the World" led by Kukuwa Nuamah on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Experience a high energy Latino/Africano/Caribbeano dance workout that celebrates a variety of cultures together in one exciting event.
Fitness Around the World will begin at 6 p.m. in McComas Hall. The event is open to all Virginia Tech students, faculty, and staff. The first 100 participants will receive a free t-shirt and Subway coupon.
The winner of the Carlson Wagonlit Travel Fall Fitness Challenge grand prize of a four night Marriott stay at participating properties, plus a $50 Exxon gas card, and a $50 Red Lobster gift card will be announced at the end of the event.
Kukuwa is an internationally acclaimed African dance performer, dance choreographer, fitness dance instructor, and originator of Gye Nyame African Cultural Dance Company, Kukuwa, Inc., and Latino Africano Caribbeano Dance Company, LLC®. She has over 20 years of cultural dance background, which she incorporates into her work. She travels across the United States and abroad presenting her Kukuwa Dance Workout, LAC® master classes.
Virginia Tech Recreational Sports joins in partnership with the university to enhance the quality of life for all students, faculty, staff, their families, and the community by providing recreational and fitness opportunities throughout the year.
