5K Dash for the Cure to benefit cancer society April 21
Virginia Tech Recreational Sports, along with event sponsors University Bookstore and Volume II Bookstore, will host the 5K Dash for the Cure on Saturday, April 21 prior at 10 a.m., just prior to the Spring Football game.
The race is open to university community and general public. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
The race will follow the Virginia Tech Route, starting at the Duck Pond and is partially on paved road and off-road on the cross-country course. The 1-mile Fun Run begins at 9 a.m., with the 5K following at 10 a.m. Pre-Registration is $5 for the Fun Run and $15 for the 5K. Registration on race day is $10 for the Fun Run and $20 for the 5K.
All participants will receive a free tee-shirt and extras will be available for $5 each. First and second place winners for each age group will receive trophies for the 5K and ribbons for the Fun Run. Ages range from six and 61 plus.
