Jackson to head alumni relations for College of Science
Robin H. Jackson of Radford, Va., has been named director of alumni relations for the College of Science at Virginia Tech.
Jackson came to Virginia Tech in 2001 as assistant director of alumni relations for the College of Architecture and Urban Studies and the Pamplin College of Business. In 2003, her position became solely dedicated to the College of Architecture and Urban Studies where she was responsible for establishing and executing both short- and long-term plans to enhance the involvement of the alumni with the college constituencies, staffing alumni boards, leveraging volunteer support in implementing college and alumni programs, and coordinating all alumni activities. She will continue this mission with the College of Science.
“I look forward to my new role in the College of Science and working with our most valuable resource, our alumni,” Jackson said. “It is extremely rewarding to create opportunities for our alumni to interact with our students, faculty, and administration and to continue this outreach to our alumni in the field. Our alumni help keep our college strong.”
Before coming to Virginia Tech, Jackson held positions as assistant director in the Office of Continuing Education at Radford University, program coordinator in the School of Continuing Studies at East Tennessee State University, and spent over 20 years in the corporate arena working in the financial and insurance industries. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree from East Tennessee State University.
