Virginia Tech Board of Visitors to meet March 26-27
The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting at 1:15 p.m. Monday, March 27, in the Board Room of Torgersen Hall (Room 2100) on the Blacksburg campus. In addition, a strategic planning retreat will be held Sunday, March 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Inn at Virginia Tech.
The following committee sessions will be held on Monday, March 27 (meetings will be at The Inn at Virginia Tech unless otherwise noted):
==> The Academic Affairs Committee will meet in closed session at 8:30 a.m. in the Drillfield Conference Room; open session will follow.
==> The Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet in closed session at 8 a.m. in the New River Conference Room and will meet in open session at 8:45 a.m. in the Huckleberry Conference Room.
==> The Finance and Audit Committee will meet in closed session at 7:30 a.m. in the Old Guard Salon and will meet in open session at 8:30 a.m. in the Duckpond Room.
==> The Student Affairs Committee will have breakfast with students from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Alliance in the 1872 Salon. The committee meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Cascades Room, and the committee will go into closed session to conduct student interviews.
Among the topics to be discussed during the two day meeting are tuition and fees and compensation for graduate assistantships for the 2006-07 academic year; a resolution to establish a School of Construction; and resolutions on the approval of one new bachelor’s degree program and four new Ph.D. programs.
