Board of Visitors to meet Aug. 28-29
The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, in the Board Room of Torgersen Hall (Room 2100) on the Blacksburg campus.
The following sessions will be held on Sunday, Aug. 28 and Monday, Aug. 29:
Sunday, August 28 (all meetings held Sunday will be at The Inn at Virginia Tech)
==> 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.: The Special Research Committee will meet in the Smithfield Conference Room (top floor)
==> 3 to 5 p.m.: An information session for the full board will be held in the Solitude Conference Room (top floor).
Monday, August 29 (All committee meetings held Monday morning will be on the top floor of the Inn at Virginia Tech unless otherwise noted.)
==> The Finance and Audit Committee will meet in closed session at 7:30 a.m. in the 1872 Salon (main floor) and will meet in open session at 8:45 a.m. in the Cascades Conference Room B.
==> The Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet in closed session at 8 a.m. in the New River Conference Room and will meet in open session at 9 a.m. in the Huckleberry Conference Room.
==> The Academic Affairs Committee will meet in open session at 8:30 a.m. in the Drillfield Conference Room.
==> The Student Affairs Committee will meet in open session at 8:30 a.m. in the Cascades Conference Room A.
Among the topics to be discussed are 2006-08 appropriation requests and the public listing of required or assigned textbooks. New board members and Faculty Senate president and student representatives will be introduced at the meeting.
