Future scientists start here

Category: campus experience Video duration: Future scientists start here
Science summer camps at Virginia Tech give students hands-on exposure to a wide range of STEM disciplines, including health sciences, chemistry, physics, public health, and ecology. Beyond exploring scientific concepts, campers are introduced to the many career paths available in science, helping them discover opportunities they may have never considered before. Through interactive experiences and conversations with experts, students gain a better understanding of how science impacts the world and how their own interests can lead to rewarding futures in STEM. The camp also inspires students as they begin thinking about college majors and career goals, from astrophysics and geosciences to engineering and beyond. Faculty and staff emphasize not just learning scientific facts, but understanding the scientific process itself, including experimentation, replication, and building on previous discoveries. By connecting students with Virginia Tech researchers and their cutting-edge work, the program encourages the next generation of scientists, innovators, and problem-solvers while showcasing the exciting possibilities that STEM education can offer.
