Designing clothes for HokieBird
Today, we had a very special guest in the costume shop. Our students here were visited by the Hokie Bird. This collaboration is wonderful because in the School of Performing Arts, not only do we work in live theater, but we also work in other areas like film, theme parks, where we're creating a costume to fit an unconventional form that we might not see every day. So it's a really wonderful portfolio piece that our students will be working on. And this is something that's going to give us a completely new viewpoint of how to make clothing. I have a couple connections with Hokie Sports and the Hokie Bird, and I thought it would be a great idea to collab SOPA, School of the Performing Arts, and the Hokie Bird to boost morale for our program and, you know, really show off what Virginia Tech performing arts students can do when you put the two together. It is creating a concept for the face of spirit here at Virginia Tech. How do I embody that and help me to develop concepts that help me connect to the culture here at Virginia Tech through this costume for the Hokie Bird.
