See inside the body with butterfly ultrasound equipment from VTCSOM Library
Butterfly ultrasounds are a transportable form of the ultrasound. It actually is just a probe that has a lot of technology that connects to an app, and you can plug that into your phone or an iPad. The VTCSOM Library providing these butterfly ultrasound kits for checkout is both lowering that financial barrier for entry for students and also allowing them to have exposure to what is really on sort of the cutting edge of ultrasound technology. See right there. Gone. I know myself and a lot of my classmates, we love to be able to check it out of the library, and we can take it home to study and practice our ultrasound skills there. Without having to, like, come to school or try to figure out how to lug around these big, bulky machines. That flexibility is really great, and it just deepens your learning, and you get to be kind of more experimental with it. The library is the right home for the butterfly ultrasounds for other pieces of emerging technology for any number of student resources here on the VTCSOM campus. We're well situated to have the VTCSOM library be part of the larger University Libraries structure. This does not exist at a lot of institutions. And so it's something that draws people into our school specifically. I think it will attract a lot more students with diverse interests, and some very excellent people who want that unique opportunity to learn that they wouldn't get elsewhere.
