Country music's Morgan Wade joins cadets for Platoon Tactical Challenge
Yeah that was definitely harder than anything I have ever done. I was invited to come to the cadets course today and it was an immediate yes for me. I work out seven days a week, super into fitness, powerlifting with a little bit of the bodybuilding aspect. Today, there's more sprinting and definitely some fast-paced stuff. So I think that just really shows how hard they're out here working all the time to be able to do that, and watching this, everybody's pushing in these groups to get completed, to get things done and make sure everybody's doing their best and that's how it is when you're out on the road when you're performing we're all working together to try to make sure we get everything done well. Running today's platoon tag challenge with Morgan Wade was definitely amazing. She was easy to talk to, communicates good, shares her thoughts on how to get things done. It's like she knew what to do even before she got there. Running the course today with Morgan Wade was very inspiring. She was really open to everything we threw at her and I find that very admirable. It was so sick running with Morgan. She is an absolute beast. Every station she was trying to be hands-on and help us and just be involved and really just embracing our culture and embracing us, and that's just really great to see someone come out here and respect what we do and we can respect them right back. Yeah, today I didn't have any of my own songs in my head if I'm being honest, I cussed myself a lot. But, you know one song that I have written that, you know, I think is still important to this day that I didn't ever think I would put out was a song called "The Night" about mental health making it through the night. Mental health is just something that we don't talk about enough. Especially being here with these men and women that are , you know, going to go on and serve for our country. I think it's really, really important that they have their mental health taken care of and that they are supported and loved and can talk about things. So I hope moving forward that there's something I can do and do that through my music. Let's go! Hokies! Let's go! Hokies! Let's go! Hokies!
