The Times Higher Education (THE) Innovation & Impact Summit at Virginia Tech’s Academic Building One in Alexandria convened more than 200 delegates from 61 universities across 28 countries alongside industry leaders and federal agencies. It was the first time this summit took place in North America.
Welcome to the 2025 Times Higher Education Innovation Impact Summit. Each and every year, Times Higher Ed Group has really done their homework and due diligence to pick a topic that is highly relevant to a broad audience. This year, the theme is on security, securing the world through partnerships for a better tomorrow. A topic that actually is connected with so much that we care about. We all have a duty whether it be government or industry or universities in addressing a topic such as security. You know that theme is resonating with really with this broader audience that they are bringing together. It's been fantastic, it's my first one and I hope to be at many more. Coming here and meeting all the people from all continents, I think it's everybody's doing the good and learning from them and giving something best of from our universities to them and the goal which is very important for all of us to collaborate collaborate and collaborate. That's one of the extreme points of value that I had here being able to talk to different educational institutions different commercial institutions and other organizations that are working to bring all those together and I think the way the Times Higher Ed pulls this together allows all of us to have sort of a common discourse share ideas. It has been quite inspirational for me to think about my own work, to put it into this broader international contest. It's been a really interesting few days listening to different perspectives from across the world. It's very much an international event. Conferences like this one attract colleagues, experts, people who care from across the globe And so that particular international context is important because people bring to this conference a commonality of interest and passion, but they also bring a diversity of experience and intelligence.
