The Virginia Tech National Security Institute convened senior leaders across government, industry, and academia to discuss the importance of AI governance. The two-day AI Governance Symposium at Academic Building One was co-hosted by Guidehouse and provided participants with interactive discussions, real-world examples, and shared insights in the responsible development and deployment of AI.

Artificial intelligence has had extremely rapid growth over even the past two or three years, let alone the past five years. This is the AI Governance Symposium hosted by the Virginia Tech National Security Institute in partnership with GuideHouse. This was an outstanding opportunity to bring together a broad set of stakeholders from government and industry, non-profit and academia to talk about a topic that's on everybody's mind application areas that I'm most excited about for artificial intelligence are really it's about human capital and allowing people to be most productive where the ingenuity and creativity of the human mind are going to be the most applicable at the heart of being able to drive adoption within an organization as it relates to AI is being able to strike the balance between responsible AI and also innovation how do we deploy AI how do we deploy it so that it's it's safe that it's reliable we're in the Northern Virginia DC area and this is where so much is happening where people are willing to innovate and willing to look at ways to do things better one of the One of the biggest things that we bring to the table for Virginia Tech National Security Institute is that we can bring people together and be a convener of these types of discussions and help drive things forward. I think today's conversation with industry participants, government leaders, academia has been super insightful to identify really tactical things that organizations can be doing to tackle this important and pressing issue. One of the most important things that everybody agreed from the onset of the event is that this was not a symposium for discussion's sake. It was a symposium that's focused on action and driving change.
