Study Abroad Fair presents opportunities for global studies
As part of Study Abroad Week, Outreach and International Affairs hosted the Study Abroad Fair, where over 70 program providers and faculty program leaders showcased the study abroad opportunities they’ve created for students.
Every year we have about 1,500 students going abroad so today we have a 57 booth here talking about the study abroad from different program different major and is have opportunity for everyone. It's amazing you to see a new culture that you would otherwise never see you can go over for a summer a winter a semester or even a full year. It's not just about going abroad and travel. It's about learning the new culture. Students would go there and they not just visit multiple places, they do cultural stuff, they immerse into the community. Because you get to learn about the diversity that happened around the world, you get to learn a different culture. Virginia Tech has so many people from different countries. We are very diverse. Students need to know how to interact with other people outside of that culture, learn that culture, learn new culture and this is a great opportunity. We're trying to facilitate everyone going abroad and we're trying to find whatever can work for you. A lot of times the number one reason why people can't go abroad is because of financials and we want to make sure that everyone can have that ability to go abroad and complete a full four years Aperture in Tech while also having experiences that change their world.
