Elementary students from Alexandria, Arlington, and Washington, D.C. took part in the week-long Science of Flight program. Students learned about the principals of flight and aviation and practical uses of drones. They also learned to fly drones and compete in a drone soccer. The summer program is part of the K-12 Initiatives at Virginia Tech’s Academic Building One in Alexandria.
