The Massey Herbarium at Virginia Tech is the largest herbarium in Virginia. It houses thousands of dried and pressed plant specimens used for research and education. The oldest is over 200 years old. Massey Herbarium Curator Jordan Metzgar explains how the museum first began and how the collection is used by students, faculty, researchers, and the public for a variety of purposes, including modeling future species distribution in response to climate change.
