        <description><![CDATA[ Students work on a series of challenges in such areas as cyber analytics, network traffic analysis, cryptography, and reverse engineering. In doing so, they learn new skills and hone existing ones to better prepare them for the workforce. The camp addresses more than technical skills. Students receive expert help in polishing their resumes and cover letters. Mock interviews help them level up their interview skills. Some students land internships, which then lead to jobs, as a direct result of attending the camp. ]]></description>

        <title>Researcher uses bat-inspired design to develop new approach to sound location</title>

        <description><![CDATA[ Inspired by the workings of a bat’s ear, Rolf Mueller, a professor of mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech, has created bio-inspired technology that determines the location of a sound’s origin. Mueller’s development works from a simpler and more accurate model of sound location than previous approaches, which have traditionally been modeled after the human ear. His work marks the first new insight for determining sound location in 50 years. ]]></description>
