- Get to know your library liaison. You have a dedicated library expert who can help you connect with all University Libraries has to offer, from collections, research services, emerging technology, and teaching resources.
- Make your work more impactful and help potential collaborators find you by creating a public profile in Virginia Tech Experts, ORCID, and Scopus. Check out the Scholarly Profiles and Identifiers guide or connect with the library’s research impact team to learn more.
- Bring your book idea to life by partnering with Virginia Tech Publishing through the publishing process of writing, editing, designing, peer-reviewing, publishing, and marketing your work. Learn more and get started!
- Take advantage of Virginia Tech’s Open Access Policy. Upload the accepted versions of your published scholarly articles to VTechWorks, the university’s open scholarly repository. Most scholarly articles written by Virginia Tech authors are behind a paywall and unavailable to the public, including scholars in low and middle-income countries, government policymakers, taxpayers, and our alumni. If you have benefited from open access provided by others, return the favor!
How do I access library resources?
Take advantage of all the University Libraries has to offer. Every Virginia Tech campus has access to all library information resources and expertise. Through lib.vt.edu, you can search digital and physical resources and request for them to be delivered to you. Download the browser extension LibKey or look for the Get VText icon in databases and Google Scholar to connect to library resources both on and off campus.
Additionally, Newman Library and each of the branch libraries enable to you dabble in emerging technologies as well as check out certain kinds of equipment.
