University Policy Updates: November 2024 to February 2025

The following university policies were updated between November 2024 to February 2025. Both substantive and technical updates are included below. Note: The most recent updates to a posted policy can be found at the end of that policy under “Approvals and Revisions.” Please read to learn more.
No. 6105 — Periodic Evaluation of Academic Deans and Vice Presidents: This policy modification provided process updates for clarification, efficiency, and effectiveness.
No. 6305 — Satisfactory Academic Progress for Associate and Undergraduate Students: This policy was revised to clarify and refine term and cumulative GPA requirements for satisfactory progress toward a degree while on academic suspension, provided additional guidelines for college and departmental policies, provided guidelines for enrollment maximum credits while on probation, updated Section 2.3.2 to reflect the policy for suspension based on consecutive fall or spring semesters with unsatisfactory academic performance, and added definitions.
No. 6370 — Resignations of Students: This policy revision removed obsolete references and clarified current resignation process and procedures.
Campus-wide
No. 1020 — Policy on a Drug-Free University: This policy modification provided clarifying language, including addition of reference to the “illegal” use, possession, or manufacturing of any drug or controlled substance, updated the definition of “controlled substance,” and updated links throughout the policy.
No. 1025 — Policy on Harassment, Discrimination, and Sexual Assault: This policy was revised to update organization and position titles in Section 3.1.
No. 1026 — Policy on Title IX Sexual Harassment and Responsible Employee Reporting: This policy was revised to update organization titles in Section 3.1 and Appendix 2.
Finance and Business
No. 3350 — Charter for the Office of Audit, Risk, and Compliance: This policy revision included updates to align with the updated Global Internal Audit Standards.
Human Resources
No. 4800 — Tuition Benefits Program for Salaried Employees: This policy was revised to update the meaning of non-degree credit to clarify academic purpose and revised the criteria upon which tuition benefit requests should be evaluated, clarify program approval requirements based on employment classification, add language to address withdrawal from courses, clarify grade requirement under tuition reimbursement to align with the same under tuition waiver included language to address withdrawal or resignation from courses, and update links and references throughout the policy.
Student Affairs
No. 8205 — Visual Media Policy: This policy was modified to provide clarifying language throughout the policy.
No. 8215 — Major Entertainment Sponsored by a Registered Student Organization or Held in a Major Venue: This policy was modified to provide clarifying procedures for RSO and UCSO organizations.
