Research Development Series: National Science Foundation Research Traineeship info webinar
From: The Office of Research and Innovation
The National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Traineeship (NRT) program is one of the agency’s signature collaborative initiatives. Designed to train STEM graduate students in high-priority interdisciplinary research areas, the program integrates convergent research, innovative educational approaches, workforce development, and public-private partnerships to transform STEM graduate education. While the program’s complexity presents unique challenges in the application process, it also establishes a strong foundation for larger center-scale initiatives.
Guest speaker and professor Vinod Lohani will share about the roadmap for assembling a competitive NRT application, including firsthand insight into how to demonstrate to reviewers that a proposed program will be effective, sustainable, and impactful. Lohani has led numerous National Science Foundation-funded projects in computer-supported research and learning systems, engineering education, hydrology, and international collaboration
