Lifelong Learning Institute’s spring registration opens Jan. 28
The Continuing and Professional Education program is open to any curious adults 50 and older
From: Lifelong Learning Institute at Virginia Tech
The Lifelong Learning Institute at Virginia Tech (LLI) continues its 10th anniversary celebration with a full slate of courses, lectures, webinars, field trips, and other special events this spring. Registration opens Jan. 28 for the spring term, which begins Feb. 17 with 68 program offerings.
LLI is a member-driven, volunteer organization for curious adults 50 and older, and is a program of Continuing and Professional Education, part of Outreach and International Affairs. It draws on the wealth of academic and community resources in the New River Valley to provide intellectual, cultural, and social experiences to its members. In fact, many classes are led by current and former Virginia Tech faculty members.
A wide variety of courses will be offered this spring, including the Jane Austen Book Club, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, arts and crafts, Contemporary Female Songwriters as Cultural Historians, wine tasting, and Designing Your Own Charcuterie Board. Several field trips are also planned, including to:
- Teaberry Alpaca Farm
- ARIES, Virginia Tech’s Immersive Program
- 16 Frogs Art Tour with Blacksburg’s mayor
- Historic Saltville
- Roanoke Art and Architecture
