Virginia Tech's Fralin Life Sciences Institute, in collaboration with 4-H, will offer six-week-long science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) summer camps on the Blacksburg campus.

The half-day camps will run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. -12 p.m., and are appropriate for kids ages 9-12 on the following dates. Please only sign up for one of the six weeks offered (programming will be the same each week).

  • May 28 - 31
  • June 3 - 7
  • July 8 - 12
  • July 15 - 19
  • July 29 - Aug. 2
  • Aug. 5 - 9

Registration is $100 (with the exception of May 28-31, which will be $80) and is non-refundable. Sixteen kids maximum will be allowed to register each week. Please register at the link here.

Each day will focus on different STEM topics including geology (including jewelry making), horticulture (tour of the Hahn Horticulture Garden) and engineering (design build activities). Since a majority of our time will be in a lab setting the child must wear long pants (or skirt to the ankle, if appropriate) and close-toed shoes.

Snacks will not be provided however we will take a 15-minute break around 10:30 am so that students can eat a quick snack outside. We encourage kids to bring a water bottle.

If you are in need of a scholarship, please contact Kristy Collins to receive a discount code. Scholarships are available for students whose parents indicate they have a financial need.
