The 2025 Ecological Forecasting Initiative Conference will be held at Virginia Tech on May 19-22

The international ecological forecasting community will come together to share cutting-edge research about forecasting for the 3.5-day in-person Ecological Forecasting Initiative 2025 Conference on May 19-22 at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. The conference will include keynote addresses, research presentations, a poster session, workshops, open time for networking, and a field trip into the mountains to visit the Mountain Lake Biological Station National Ecological Observatory Network site. The half day on the 22nd will be time for working group activities and training workshops.

Three keynote speakers this year will bring diverse expertise in a range of ecological forecasting topics: Antoinette Abeyta, assistant professor at the University of New Mexico Gallup; Paula Mabee, chief scientist and observatory director for the National Ecological Observatory Network; and Mark Urban, associate professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Connecticut.

The deadline to submit oral and poster presentation abstracts, workshop proposals, working group activities, and travel scholarship applications closes on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Click here for the links for submitting materials. Early bird registration opens Feb. 14.
